Jeremy Kane
Plumber/Steampipe Fitter

When Jeremy Kane joined the Sentara team in 2021, he became part of a highly qualified facilities crew responsible for keeping the core of the hospital’s operations running smoothly—a side of operations that many people take for granted. Jeremy is a Plumber/Steampipe Fitter at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital (SVBGH).

I like the atmosphere and culture in the facilities department,” he says. “I have a background with pipefitting and steam, and I feel that I can be of great assistance in keeping the hospital operating.”

This Army veteran brings more than 10 years of experience in plumbing and maintenance to Sentara. Jeremy was deployed multiple times overseas during his military service and is glad to now be home and be able to spend time with his family and two sons, whom he calls “his world.” In the summer, you can find them at the beach, or riding around in their Jeep with the top down and doors off.

Jeremy is quick to point out that while he has years of experience in his field, the other tradesmen with whom he works are always willing to help teach a specific skill or tool he may not be familiar with. Working in a supportive environment is key to contributing to Sentara’s mission.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to assist the hospital with its mission of providing healthcare to our community, and I look forward to a fun career here at SVBGH.”
